CZECH LABOR MARKET IN EUROPEAN COMPARISON

Using selected indicators, the article provides an overview of the position of the Czech labor market in comparison with the Eu-27 countries. In some indicators, the Czech Republic reaches the top ranks, but at the same time in other compared areas it lags behind and is below the Eu-27
average or is also placed on the back rungs. The area of the labor market continues to fall within the competence of individual member states. Employment policy has not become one of the common Eu policies for which decision-making has been transferred to the Eu institutions. However, by joining the Eu, countries have made a number of commitments, which in many areas shape or interfere in the decisions of individual governments and the form of measures taken. The Eu's goal, which is also reflected in the implementation of its policies and activities, is to achieve a high level of employment. The strategic employment targets to be achieved by the Member States are set. However, the situation
and development of the national market is primarily the result of a long-term development of a number of factors and is linked to the country's economic performance, and despite coordination through acts adopted, whether binding on Member States or voluntary, differences remain between countries in terms of employment and labor market comparisons.
