Martin Holub

Veřejná správa a sociální politika 2022, 2(2):41-62 | DOI: 10.25142/vssp.2022.013

A number of expert papers have revealed that one of the reasons for the gender pension gap comprises the interruption of the working career due to the birth and subsequent upbringing of children. The presented paper provides a summary of this issue and points to the factors that lead to gender inequality in the amount of the pension, and provides an overview of the methods used to take into account childcare within the pension systems of selected European countries. The setting of the parameters of the pension system and the approach to, and extent of the consideration of periods of motherhood and raising children in the pension system, is one...

Věra Kuchařová

Veřejná správa a sociální politika 2022, 2(2):63-80 | DOI: 10.25142/vssp.2022.009

Financial support measures  retain  their  central  role  in  today's  family  policy, which  is increasingly important in a time when more and more families are being affected by more difficult economic conditions. The aim of this paper is to compare national family benefits systems in the context of family policy models. National models are currently more a mix of classic 'ideal types', with greater or lesser dominance of the original features, and benefit systems differ particularly in the details of setting, the degree of generosity and targeting, and the structure of forms of financial support. Cash benefits are a key component of overall...

CURRENT MEASURES OF THE EUROPEAN UNION AND THE CZECH REPUBLIC AGAINST IRREGULAR MIGRATION IN THE
CONTEXT OF THE CZECH PRESIDENCY OF THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN  UNION

Matúš Vyrostko

Veřejná správa a sociální politika 2022, 2(2):99-107 | DOI: 10.25142/vssp.2022.014

The Czech Republic presides over the Council of the European union from the beginning of July to the end of December. This important position means that the presiding country leads all meetings at all levels of the Council. The topics that the Czech Republic, as the presiding state, will have to deal with are undoubtedly challenging. In addition to high energy prices and a high rate of inflation, the European union and the countries of Central Europe in particular are troubled by the war conflict in ukraine. This caused a mass refugee wave of migrants from ukraine, but in the meantime, in addition to the humanitarian issue, the issue of an increased...

CZECH LABOR MARKET IN EUROPEAN COMPARISON

Helena Vychová

Veřejná správa a sociální politika 2022, 2(2):109-126 | DOI: 10.25142/vssp.2022.004

Using selected indicators, the article provides an overview of the position of the Czech labor market in comparison with the Eu-27 countries. In some indicators, the Czech Republic reaches the top ranks, but at the same time in other compared areas it lags behind and is below the Eu-27 average or is also placed on the back rungs. The area of the labor market continues to fall within the competence of individual member states. Employment policy has not become one of the common Eu policies for which decision-making has been transferred to the Eu institutions. However, by joining the Eu, countries have made a number of commitments, which in many...
